TY LARKINS
INTERIORS DESIGN
STUDIO
The building which serves as the design showroom and retail home furnishings shop for Ty Larkins Interiors, was originally an Arts and Crafts home built in 1918. Decades later, it had been rezoned as a commercial space and was being used as an insurance agency for over 20 years.
Despite its commercial use and location on a hip and trendy trafficked street, the building still retained the floor of a three bedroom, two bath residence when it was purchased for the firm’s retail design showroom. Unfortunately, the structure was in grave disrepair and was not suitable for intended use as a retail designer showroom. We decided to gut the interior of the structure “down to the studs” which allowed us to reconfigure the spaces, creating a retail showroom and design office within. An open floor plan and neutral color palette was devised so that the home furnishings would be the star attraction.
